Volume of a Pyramid

Pyramid Volume Formula

The formula for volume of a pyramid is given as:

V = 13lwh

Where V is the volume, l is the base’s length, w is the base’s width, and h is the height of the prism.

Example Problems

Problem 1:
Find the volume of a pyramid with a base length of 6, base width of 6, and prism height of 3.

Solution:
1.) Let’s plug the given dimensions into the volume formula. This gives us:
V = 13lwh
V = 13(6)(6)(3) = 36
2.) The volume is 36.

Problem 2:
Find the volume of a pyramid with a base length of 3, base width of 6, and a height of 10.

Solution:
1.) Let’s plug the given dimensions into the volume formula. This gives us:
V = 13lwh
V = 13(3)(6)(10) = 60
2.) The volume is 60.
