## Cone Volume Formula

The formula for volume of a cone is given as:**V = ^{1}⁄_{3}πhr^{2}**

Where

*h*is the height and

*r*is the radius.

### Example Problem

A cone-shaped rock formation is measured to have a height of 4 meters and a radius of 2 meters. What is the volume of the rock formation in cubic meters?

Solution:

1.) Let’s plug the given dimensions into the volume formula.

V = ^{1}⁄_{3}πhr^{2}

V = ^{1}⁄_{3}π(4)(2^{2}) = ^{16}⁄_{3}π

2.) **The rock formation’s volume is ^{16}⁄_{3}π cubic meters.**
