Square Area Formula
The formula for area of a square is given as:
A = s2
Where A is the area and s is the side length.
Example Problems
Problem 1:
Find the area of a square with a side length of 10.
Solution:
1.) Plugging the side length into the formula, we get:
A = s2
A = 102 = 100
2.) The area of the square is 100.
Problem 2:
A square’s area is measured to be 81 square meters. What is its side length in meters?
Solution:
1.) Let’s plug the area into the formula first.
A = s2
81 = s2
2.) Now let’s solve for the side length s.
81 = s2
s = 9
3.) The side length is 9 meters.

Area Of A Square
In this lesson, we go over how to find the area of a square. At the end there will be a practice problem to text your knowledge on the subject.
Area of a square formula
Area = side^2 = side * side
HOW TO FIND THE AREA OF A SQUARE
To find the area of a square, take a side length and multiply it by itself (also known as squaring a number)
Ex. 5^2 = 5 * 5 = 25
